Cinderella — Mohammed Nanu Potiskum

She has the gaping teeth
that frightens all but me.
For through them,
I see the heaven’s gate.

And her bow—shaped legs
equate a life belt
In which I tie my though
to row the flight of my soul
from the wonders she offers mates.

You have the tiger’s nails
that frenzied non
Except the mad in me

Those ugly hunch back
above the bumps on you
Seem to add for me
a comfort of height

Watch the Cin-de-rella dame
that blacken self,
is but nature’s dole
For us to feel its role

Tough the witch you are
with bearded chin
and elfin attires
To me you look
Just another Saint,
Sent.
