I like her
Well, she likes me too
I’ve known her several years
But lately when we meet
She takes me on one side to say—
She has another love.
It is our secret
We slopped off to some other places
How thrilling she is
She tells me about her man
Was never enduring
And, no she never really loves him.
We sit at a dinner
My two good friends and me
And talk and now and then
She’ll catch my eye and wink
So sly.
But it is not my secret
Not for me to tell him
So we just go on
One helpless traitor
And one helpless victim
A friendship indeed.
