Friendship — Pierre Meunier

Friendship, the real one, which does not care
for days, months and seasons,
friendship, solid as a rock,
I dedicate to you this poem,

Friendship, honey, milk, sap, what else?
you rise, right from the heart,
of those who are my friends,
if the sun shines, or if it snows.

Friendship, the real one, dear to my heart,
which you can’t buy or sell,
you are ruby, turquoise and gold,
priceless beyond reason.

Friendship, you transmute, you catalyse
of winter you make a summer,
of a hurricane, soft breeze,
and of a crowd, society.

Friendship, the real one, which does not care,
for days, months and seasons,
I dedicate to you this poem.
