In the spring a young-man’s fancy
Lightly turns to thought of love
There is rain when the sky is cloudy,
dense and still
Certainly there is fondness between
the apt couple
There is joy and laughter on the
lonely shore
By the deep blue sea and music in its
roar.
Amidst the roar there arose the
paired flairs
Certainly the beseeming souls flared
Queen nature opens her domain and
does her work
Fate and destiny tooled the wake
I hold things in me and go to sleep
with hope
She goes to sleep with things and
comes awake with love
Love, peace and understanding;
these things shall befit
A noble race ever the Bijis and Saahs
has known shall befall
With flame of love in our souls; light
of knowledge in our eyes
And benevolence in our coins of
minds.
My big heart burst into flowers with
all my love
Gimbiya, give me more room in your
precious heart
And be a good companion of my
youth
Perhaps a friend of my soul
This is clearly said and cannot be
forgotten
Out of the night; old and dark,
Gimbiya can never be forsaken.
Her decency as well as her ingenuity
are without tease
Intrigue even at the sight of her milk-
like teeth
Have no objection to her beautiful
melodious voice
Having been paired with her hence
my rejoice
Nonetheless a thing is certain; her
absence bothers me
But then I say my Hamd to Allahu for
the meed.
