Rhapsodies of sweet angels
Inundate a most hallowed night
Eloquent phrases did, in white clouts
Of burning incense, sang melodiously
Like the soothing pledges of an
Indescriptic beauty to the attentive
Listening of a matured, lover, the voices
In chorus, sang their wonderful carols
In the blessed night of Qadr
The birds, insects and all, diligently
chirp, coo and hoot all night long
Oblivious of time and space
In overwhelming ecstasy that
Breezes the heart; in cool solace
That emanates from fervent
Recapitulation of the rhythmic
Phrases that solemnly sprouted
Like the fascinating petals of roses
From the most glorious fountain in heaven
The crickets and owls chant their
Hearts, the nightingales sing as in
Their befitting mornings
The fanatical moths clamour over
The niche on which stood the most
Brilliant lamp of lamps!
Come they so close to its magnifying
Bulb; colourful wings, in ecstasy
Flapping; quivering lips planting
Endless kisses on the azure glass
Oh vent! unveil thyself to these
Most sincere servants to themselves
Immerse into the glowing flame
Melting in its nourishing coolness!
Oh cool, oh bliss, the light of
Ramadan; may we swim ‘nd
Drown in thy glorious fountain.
