Original poetry

Fifty Years, Still Counting

From Greatness Too Is Meant for You, an unpublished 2014 manuscript by Adetimilehin Inioluwa Victor (Vic’Adex). Lightly edited for grammar while preserving the original voice.

Fifty years and I still love you
Many years and my heart will not move
By the meadows of the endless lake
Let our love be the music, the birds make

Many have crashed, burned, and have broken
But here I am, with more than a token
The snares of time have been tricky
We held out, some have not been so lucky

Does the queen leave the hive and seek a new home?
Shall France leave its Paris, or Italy its Rome?
I love you my 50yrs and counting lady friend
And so it shall be to the end

Editor’s note: First drafted in the early Vic’Adex voice and preserved here as part of the Words on Rampage archive.
