What Good
From Greatness Too Is Meant for You, an unpublished 2014 manuscript by Adetimilehin Inioluwa Victor (Vic’Adex). Lightly edited for grammar while preserving the original voice.
What Good have we done?
That we deserve to be the one
For whom God became flesh and bone
And great pain He underwent.
Who am I to boast?
I could have been a Christmas goat
Roasted in spices and cooking oil,
Perhaps end up as a barbeque toast
To give eternal life to me
The son of man he came to be
That for us it may be well
He went through the depths of hell
The price he paid we cannot know
He came down among men so low
To show us the heavenly way,
While we still in our sins lay.
To people who loved Him not
Who plotted evil against Him,
He stood bearing all their lot,
Whether they were good or not.
He brought the enemy’s plan to naught
And suffered for us God’s flaming wrath
