Original poetry

Friendship Zone

From Greatness Too Is Meant for You, an unpublished 2014 manuscript by Adetimilehin Inioluwa Victor (Vic’Adex). Lightly edited for grammar while preserving the original voice.

My heart staggers through the love lane
My Superman losing Lois Lane.
No form my human love can take
Can change the past or future stake

Her beauty made a fool of me
Nothing she asked I could not be
To another she claimed to belong.
‘Tis like living in a sad song

Farewell my dear. Silly old friend
No tear or grudge will help me mend.
Move on and find the worth of me
Sooner or later it may be

Love towards me she could not make
Every good deed she did, unstrung.
Of your deceit finally free
And for this truth, I’ll let you be

Editor’s note: First drafted in the early Vic’Adex voice and preserved here as part of the Words on Rampage archive.
