‘Half-a-Word’ — ’Sanmi-Ebora Ogunjobi

‘HALF-A-WORD’

I’ll tell you ‘half-a-word’
which the elders say
Is enough for the wise
For when
It is digested
It becomes full whole

Now,
In that your place
Where sour is given for sweet
Sincerity lacks foundation
‘Give-and-take’ seek admirers
I say
Your conscience
Is the real judge

Here,
my ‘half-a-word’

’Sanmi-Ebora Ogunjobi
