Who are we today?
Who are we today to call Africans foreigners in a land of the San peole
We are all immigrants in this land of the San
Like the Rolling Stones we keep saying everywhere we lay our heads that’s our home
We came to the south running away from the dearth
Like the rest of our African brothers and sisters, who came here running away from civil wars, poverty and snags back from their homes
South promised a better tomorrow for us
Even today it promises better openings for our African brothers and sisters
These borders where created to detach an African child from an African child
They were created to separate you from you
Our forefathers use to travel from North to South
Our forefather use to travel from East to West
Africa was our home
Africa was for Africans
But today we are being called foreigners in the land of our forefathers
We might think we are free from these big chains of our former colonisers
We might think Africa belongs to Africans
When we regain mother African from our colonisers
We also took along their systems and policies
We inherited their borders that were created to divide us
Physically colonisation was gone
Mental colonisation came in
Today we want to act as Africans
Africans that think like their colonisers
Mental colonisation rules mother Africa
Don’t blame South Africans whey they act like they are in another continent outside Africa
But blame mental colonisation
Don’t blame them when they think they know their history
When they only know His-story
Blame mental colonisation
It is about time we free ourselves from these chains of mental colonisation
It is about time we destroy these borders in our minds
Which were created to separate you from being you
Whic were created to separate an African from being an African
Which were created to rule and divide us
Which were created to destroy mother Africa
Let us free our minds
Let us free an African child
Let us free mother Africa
