For Jennipha*
For Jennipha*
Oyoyo*
I
shall sit
on this oak tree
just to see
you pass by.
Early morning
when you sing
the birds are silenced
by the trees
only to hear nature herself.
I shall raise my voice
tell the world
of the beautiful lady
I saw in the dawn of dreams.
Dimples that lightens
the night
are from
the ripples
of your smile.
Oyoyo*
Even africa
whistle beautiful
incantations
that tells of your
beauty.
Oyoyo*
The sun that shines
and sends the world
back under the roof
is intimidated even
by the stars in your eyes.
Can I pluck this fruits
of eternal salvation?
Oyoyo*
even if someone else
steals your flesh with them
just leave your footprint
in the chambers of my mind.
