JOROMI
JOROMI
[god of swaying legs]
Call the rain to gather again
Tell the dark cloud to shield upon our land
Let the winds whistle rhythmically
In the ambience of those trained palms
Jarring tempted beats.
Joromi,
Our land has cheated you.
But tonight,
Our hips wouldn’t go weary
For we shall dance to hail our land
Joromi, prepare
Our dance is to restitute, it’s of revival.
We shall dance tonight
On the heat of this soil
We shall dance tonight
When our heart is corpses
In the grave of songs.
Our men shall stupor,
Our ladies would pose like a charged eagle;
To the song, they shall dance.
Elders shall chant your name
In your shrine, incantation of peace shall burn the humid air.
Joromi, tonight is yours.
Then, we should await the rebirth of rain
On this barren soil..
Would the rivers flow again?
Shall our forest flourish?
Joromi, god of swaying legs
Would all be well after this dance?
