Our fathers did eat
Kola nut and drank palm wine
As the light that beckons
Gleamed from the shoulders of our visitors
Who rode in on caged drift,
Whose words were persuasively poisonous,
Whipping us with western ways.
Our mother dwells
Dwells in a sanatorium
After the theatrics interval
Of orchestrated lords
The mist of this dawn
Is yet to be broken
As subvert mud.
Our ancestral home
Is crumbling as a snake slithering
Upward the hill of Sinai
My age sing praises to parentage
To this junction journeyed just far
Is unbelievable to the dreams
Googled before the lords.
