31 DAYS OF POETRY- DAY 21- STREET URCHIN- by Paul Word

Have you seen us lately?

The way we walk is absurd

confusing like the mathematics topic surd

don’t laugh i beg you secretly.

Have you seen our school bag?

More like a village farmer’s bag

patches and holes are the design

more like a poor man navigating sign.

Have you seen our clothes?

More like a tattered granny’s mat

the holes on it was made by our room-mates, Rat!

Munching and tearing like a sweet harvested oats.

The street knows the smell of our foot,

’cause our sandals are torn beyond cobbler’s repair

yet we have no intention to relieve it of its despair

like glue it stuck to our foot.

We are the native of the street

the map are carve on our palm

we’re the street urchin

affirmatively, we dont know the taste of chin-chin.
