  • Dogs And Bones — Ayoola Good ...

Ayoola Goodyness Olanrewaju

for you…

i wanted to mouth
on a flute
and lid her holes of tunes
with the letters of your
name…

i wanted to write a song
of ease
on the lurking loneliness
in the brags of nights…

i have just read how to make
a flute-
the book says
it is from a bone from my bones
chiseled by the craft in your womanliness…

but when you took the bone from my bones
i saw your tail-
a dog and

too late…
