We were once soldier children
And this railway story is our past.
We carried guns from woods
But our fingers are now bullets.
We once shout and shoot
Ice! Water! But now
Is the tale of Rise! Slaughter!
We bear grudges and carried badges,
We were once present before passing past
Then, we traded innocence.
We forgot clay, skin, bones and dust.
We were sung song of war…
We are now war that matches in vanity
Hopelessly seeking quantity.
These empty buildings mourns,
These feasting termites mocks,
These Bush paths are now forests
And the cloudy dew is a stumbling crescent.
We have traded war sweat
And now seeks sleep.
This land is slippery,
If you fall, you will never stand.
