An Ode to Vic’Adex

And to the men who bleed on papers and canvases to create colorful arts that touches the earth.
To those whose hieroglyphics defy every sense of semantics, such that even their sighs become neologism.
To those whose rants become sweet music that teaches little children to fight their demons and slay their fears.

Your appraisal, and the acknowledgement of your life’s work can’t be locked into a single calendar day neither can it be summed into an auspice.
For you are worth momentary celebrations – not just on your birthday, nor on "World Poetry Day".

And I would have written you a poem, but my sleeves got wet from last night’s rain —
So much so, that my pen tumbled when I tried inscribing today’s date.

He said to me, "lighten your tongue instead and set the hearts of men ablaze, sharpen your communication into arrows and shoot at the blank canvases in people’s souls, then it will bleed new colors — works of heart that many people never thought existed.
Turn your fears into spears and hunt down your dreams".

He added, "don’t just capture what today is called; go through it torching as many objects as you can.
Then come back tomorrow to peep – see the ashes from your inferno, see the bush(es) that wouldn’t stop burning, watch the brush(es) paint many more artworks even in your absence.

Look back and see the art you’ve created on the heart of men.
Then you will be thoroughly pleased and then you can attempt writing that date. Cos by then it’s the day after."
