Christmas Phantasm

Over the rollers that were heaving in glory
Preceding the skyline of landscape and lea
Encompassing the submerged mountain apexes steadfast and hoary
Guzzle through the base of esoteric sea
Skyward to a firmament outstanding light
My spirit was soaring in dreams of the night
Amidst intricacies of obscurity and visions of light
I rambled and quivered in the dreams of the night

Spiraling in regions of boundless space
I knew that my clasp still engrossed to the earth
And on topography seraphic one believed I could trace
Some likeness to those which had grinned on my birth
While she who for ages was my solace and pride
On the wing of angel still less at my side
Together we breasted life’s erratic tide
And still an angel she fled at my side

We stared on the spot, where in bitterness wailing
One jewel from our coronet was despondently stored
And alot over our treasure an amoretto was keeping
His sentinel with the watchword of "Safe in the Lord"
And we were cognizant of a promise that told
How the shepherd was there, in His congregate to the fold

Shortly, by a typhoon of sorrow overtaken
All powerless I seemed in the waves to roll
My spirit, me thought, by the whirldwind was shaken
And all the unfathomable waters went over my soul
Till, on rainbow of glory, there demolish from the sky
The whisper of "Be not frightened, my daughter, It is I"
"Lord, save us, we succumb and swift to the cry
Came the wind whisper of "Be not frightened, it is I"

Then, over the wavering heights cloudy and grey
The song of the future greeted mine ear
The prophets, metamorphosed, emerged on the way
And I said in my heart "It is great to be here"
For the echoes that we hear, and the marvels we behold
Are the same that motivated the mentors of old
And the opines of Nature, in lingua untold
Still resonate the words of the mentors of old

The water of Galilee amalgamated with those
That waved all night in our exquisite bay
And an Anthem of Hope on the gusts arose
To merge with the voices of children at play
While a whisper of amity to my spirit expressed
That such were the children the master has blessed
And even more intensely the idea I was impressed
That those very infants the Master had blessed.
