  • NO CHOICE — Michael Inioluwa ...

NO CHOICE

It is better to wait,
For the God-fearing mate
Though it may seems to late
It’s never too late

Because if the opposite is done
She will later mourn
She will try to run
But then the deed would be done
The unwanted would have come

She will remember mother’s warning
That she should always be frowning
And no she should be saying
When a lying man is approaching

“Was it rape?”
Mother asked with mouth agape
I opened my mouth
But no word came out
It was a deal
It was my will
He gave me a pill
To prevent this thing

What will I tell father?
When it protrudes further
Or do I commit murder
And face the consequence later

Mother will cry
If I tell father a lie
But I have no choice
Than to kill the child
