Reflections

When you look at her
You see only a woman
Her curves
Her lips
Her mesmerizing eyes

She shows you what she wants you to see
For there is a deeper side to her
Secrets within her
A spirit that rages against the enemy
All while she wears a smile

You do not know her battles
Unless she has shared them
Because she does not seek pity
Nor does she want it
Her battles are what she has been through
They are not who she is

Her scars are visible at times
Through things she says
Perhaps through her actions
But her heart reveals the depth of her
Her strength radiates in the storms of life

She looks at her reflection
Where you see wrinkles of time
She sees experience
Where you see merely a woman
She sees a Queen
