  • The One — Sheila Moseley

The One

The One

Her world was
Black and white
Every thing
Every day
The same
Until he came along

He brought color to her world
Passion filled nights
Erotic rides
Spontaneous moments of
Sensual pleasure

There was nothing before him
She wondered how
Or if
She lived before he came
Into her life

His touch brought pleasure
As well as pain
His lips stirred ecstasy
Yet they brought her devastation
Words spoken in love that cut her deep

She didn’t know how she got here
Or how she would get over him
He was
And is
The one

The hurt was more
Than her love for him could cover
She had to decide
Was it more important to love him
Or to love herself

She lays alone
In her red dress…his favorite
Thankful that she loves herself more than she did him
Even at moments like this
When her heart longs for the touch of…the one
